The Dayara Bugyal Trek is one of the most beautiful and accessible treks in Uttarakhand, offering vast meadows, panoramic Himalayan views, and a wonderful experience for beginners as well as experienced trekkers. "Bugyal" means "meadow" in the local dialect, and Dayara is known for its expansive, lush green meadows dotted with wildflowers in the summer and blanketed with snow in the winter. This trek provides clear views of peaks like Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and Gangotri, making it an excellent choice for nature lovers and photographers.- Altitude: 3,658 meters (12,000 feet)
- Duration: 5 Days / 4 Nights
- Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
- Best Time to Visit: December to March (for snow); April to June and September to November for greenery and flowers.
- Start/End Point: Raithal Village
Day 1: Arrival in Raithal (Drive from Dehradun, 185 km)
- Arrive at Dehradun in the morning and drive to Raithal, a quaint village and the base point for the Dayara Bugyal Trek.
- Enjoy the scenic drive through Mussoorie, Uttarkashi, and the Bhagirathi River valley, and get a glimpse of mountain villages and lush green landscapes.
- Check into a guest house or homestay in Raithal, and acclimate to the altitude.
- Altitude: 7,400 feet
Day 2: Raithal to Gui Campsite
- Begin the trek from Raithal through beautiful forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron trees.
- The trail gradually ascends and offers spectacular views of the valley and distant peaks.
- Arrive at Gui, a scenic campsite surrounded by tall trees and offering views of Bandarpoonch peak.
- Trek Distance: 4 km (3–4 hours)
- Overnight stay in tents at Gui.
- Altitude: 9,500 feet
Day 3: Gui to Dayara Bugyal
- Continue the trek from Gui to the stunning Dayara Bugyal meadow.
- The trail opens up to expansive green meadows, which, depending on the season, may be covered in wildflowers or pristine snow.
- Spend time exploring the meadow, capturing panoramic views of peaks like Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and others in the Gangotri range.
- Trek Distance: 5 km (3–4 hours)
- Overnight stay in tents at Dayara Bugyal.
- Altitude: 11,000 feet
Day 4: Dayara Bugyal to Bakaria Top and Return to Gui
- Trek to Bakaria Top, the highest point of the trek, offering 360-degree views of the Himalayan ranges and surrounding meadows.
- Enjoy some time at Bakaria Top, then return to the Gui campsite.
- Trek Distance: 8 km (5–6 hours round trip)
- Overnight stay in tents at Gui.
Day 5: Gui to Raithal and Drive Back to Dehradun
- Trek down from Gui to Raithal, completing your trek.
- Trek Distance: 4 km (2–3 hours)
- Drive back from Raithal to Dehradun, where the journey concludes.
- Expected arrival in Dehradun by evening.
